Broken Husqvarna Riding Mower

Original review posted by user Jul 22, 2013

Right after purchase, had a rear tire that wouldn't stop leaking air.Turned out to be a defective rim that wouldn't hold air.

This should have been a warning to me what poor quality Husqvarna mowers are. After 1 year of mowing, the frame broke right where the transmission /rear wheel assembly mounts. The dealer said they had never seen this before but that Husqvarna had a kit for this problem. Right away you know that this is a known problem if there is a kit.

So after one month without a mower, got the kit installed and thought the problem was over. No, the nightmare of owning a Husqvarna mower continued. Another year and another break in the frame, this time right beside where the kit mounts. This time the dealer had the mower for 6 weeks and then told me that Husqvarna wouldn't fix it.

They said it had been misused. What a joke! Misused must mean mowing a standard lawn. I guess my old Craftsman mower which mowed that same lawn for 15 years without a problem had never heard that mowing was misuse for a riding lawn mower.

Needless to say, I am disgusted with Northern Industrial Sales and with Husqvarna. They are still selling this piece of junk. This is a known problem, with many people reporting the same thing.

If they had any integrity they would have issued a recall. So anyone thinking of purchasing a riding mower....stay clear of Husqvarna and Northern Industrial Sales in Terrace......their customer service is terrible and they don't support what they sell.

Review about: Husqvarna.

We have the exact same problem.Mower purchased 6/16/10 and frame broke.

The wheels went under mower when the frame broke. Metal should not break like that.

Mower is currently at the repair shop we were referred to.Wondering if Husqvarna is going to stand by their product, their name and their reputation.

Wondering if husqvarna is going to make this right and stand behind their product, their name and their reputation.

I doubt Husqvarna cares based on my experience. They will make up some ridiculous excuse as to why they won't fix it.

They don't stand behind their product......and unfortunately for them, their reputation is going to suffer for it. This reminds me of the saga of Maytag appliances.....once revered as top quality, they started producing units cheaper and cheaper riding on their reputation until they became known for the worst quality going. Husqvarna now makes junk......these broken frames are not isolated one of's....they are a known problem because they are so cheaply built.

The more this get's exposed on the internet on sites like this, the better. What needs to happen is a class action suit, probably the only thing that would get their attention.
